A new church plant
Abiding Savior began in 1989 as a church plant from First Lutheran Church.
Abiding Savior is both a church and a school, united by one mission: sharing the love of Christ. The church nurtures faith through Word and Sacraments, while the school equips children to grow in faith, knowledge, and service.
We are a Christ-centered community shaped by God’s Word and Sacraments.
The name Abiding Savior reflects our trust in Christ’s presence in all we do—worship, ministry, and daily life.
Abiding Savior’s mission is to connect Jesus to people’s hearts, bringing comfort, hope, and love through His Word and Sacraments.
Worship, Christian education, fellowship, and service for people of all ages.
The church and school serve together as one ministry, connecting people to Jesus and supporting faith, learning, service, and community.
Abiding Savior is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
Our congregation confesses the historic Christian faith and gathers around God’s Word and Sacraments.
Abiding Savior began as a church plant and grew into a congregation and preschool serving the Gainesville community.
Abiding Savior began in 1989 as a church plant from First Lutheran Church.
The congregation began worshiping at Oak Hall School in 1991.
Abiding Savior relocated to its current sanctuary in 1994. The preschool opened in 1995 with four classrooms.
The Family Life Center was added through a generous gift from Charles and Charlotte Scholz, expanding space for fellowship and preschool growth.
Abiding Savior has been served by pastors who have led the congregation in worship, teaching, pastoral care, and ministry.

Served Abiding Savior from 1995 through 2006.
Both pastors served beginning in 2007. Pastor Struckmeyer continued serving Abiding Savior through 2021.
Called in 2022 and currently serving as Senior Pastor.
